PANOS HOCKEY

For Coach Nick Panos, hockey is more than just a game, it’s a lifelong passion rooted in family, community, and personal growth. A former player for the Park Ridge Hornets, Chicago Minor Hawks, and Maine East Blue Demons, Nick grew up immersed in the sport and passed his love for it down to his three sons. His commitment extends beyond his family, as he’s spent more than 20 years coaching young athletes and helping them grow on and off the ice.

 

As the head varsity coach and hockey director for PREP Hockey, Panos has built a culture of dedication, teamwork, and excellence. Under his leadership, PREP made Illinois hockey history with an undefeated season that ended in both a state title and a national championship in 2022–23. Nick's influence helped expand the program, and he credits the program’s success to a pipeline of great players and a strong coaching staff.

 

Beyond the regular season, Coach Nick runs popular summer skates that draw over 100 players each summer, many of whom he’s mentored since childhood. Known for his genuine connection with his players, he’s created an environment where athletes cam be creative and thrive. With a focus on development, teamwork, and a true love for the game, Coach Nick’s summer skates, and tournament teams, offer players of all levels the opportunity to develop, compete, and grow the love of the game.
